Carmanah Design and Manufacturing Inc. has announced that it has acquired the Chipper business unit from Nicholson Manufacturing Ltd.
Effective October 1, 2005, Carmanah will be responsible for the future supply of all spare parts, capital equipment and service for the Chipper product line formerly owned by Nicholson Manufacturing Ltd.

Equipment for the sawmill, and the pulp and paper industry includes Chippers, Screens and Debarkers. In October 2005, Carmanah purchased the Chipper business unit from Nicholson Manufacturing Ltd. The acquisition increases Carmanah’s range of products, adding drum and veneer chippers, as well as a larger range of whole-log disc chippers. In North America, CARMANAH has a license agreement to manufacture and sell the Fuji King Debarker. Since bringing this rotary technology to North America in the early 1990’s, the product has done extremely well with sales of over 45 units to North American mills.
