Carmanah provides leading edge technology and equipment to optimize fibre utilization for the production of engineered wood products.  CARMANAH’s line of equipment includes SmartDISC Stranders, SmartRING Stranders and On-Line Panel Testing equipment.  As a global leader in stranding technology, CARMANAH holds an impressive 80% of the market share (PDF 365KB) in this field.

Equipment for the sawmill, and pulp and paper industry includes Chippers, Screens and Debarkers.  In October 2005, Carmanah purchased the Chipper business unit from Nicholson Manufacturing Ltd.  The acquisition increases Carmanah’s range of products, adding drum and veneer chippers, as well as a larger range of whole-log disc chippers.  In North America, CARMANAH has a license agreement to manufacture and sell the Fuji King Debarker. Since bringing this rotary technology to North America in the early 1990’s, the product has done extremely well with sales of over 45 units to North American mills.  Carmanah also represents the Jeffrey Corporation Wood Hogs and Chip-sizer™ product lines in western Canada and Ontario.
