But if one is truly gunning for a most efficient metal to use for heat sinks, copper is going to be at the top of the list. It lists one of the highest thermal conductivity among metals. However, when compared to aluminum, it tends to be heavier. There is also the fact that it costs more which makes it less than ideal for manufacturers to use it for their heat sink productions. Still, there are those that use it as heat sink material especially for those operating systems of computers that require quite an extensive level of heat dissipation.
